Argosy University Online:  Doctor of Education in Education Leadership - Higher Education

Argosy University has designed its doctorate program to meet the demanding requirements that educational professionals have that wish to become leaders of educational institutions, while still keeping a balance in their careers and family.  This programs allows students an opportunity to develop their personal and professional expertise in financial management, problem solving, change management, program evaluation, planning, and more.  Students will also explore the philosophical, historical, technical, psychological, theoretical, and practical elements of institutional administration and education.  Students of the program will be able to reinforce and expand their personal and professional expertise in financial management, program evaluation, problem solving, and change management.  This program is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.  It is a doctorate program that can be completed entirely online.  The requirements are a master's degree in a related field that is from a regionally accredited college or university or from a certified foreign institution.  

Walden University:  Ph.D in Counselor Education and Supervision

Liberty University Online:  Doctor of Education - Educational Leadership

Liberty University's Doctor of Education program will provide advanced training for those individuals who want positions in higher education.  This program has the goal of developing effective and competent leaders who have a Christian world view who will model high standards in academics and will take on leadership roles in education.  Students will focus on classes that specialize in leadership development, best practices, and educational leadership.  There are very specialized courses, and they develop the skills that are needed to assume the facilitating role in accomplishing the goals and the objectives of an education system.  This will be the case whether you are a teacher, a principal, a superintendent, a college professor, or if you have another position that requires you to have strong leadership skills and decision-making abilities.  There are three on campus visits that are required, along with a final dissertation defense.  While you are a student you may choose a concentration in teaching and learning or in educational leadership.  This program has been approved through NCATE, or the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.  It is an evangelical university, and it incorporates Christian values into the degree programs so that students have both an academic and spiritually enriching program of study.  Some of the career options that may be available to you after completing this degree program include Instructional Supervisor, Curriculum Specialist, School Administrator, College Administrator, College Professor, and Teacher.  Applicants of this program must submit an MAT or GRE score that is less than two years old.  If the applicant has taken these tests more than two years ago, the test must be taken again.  

Jones International University:  EdD Educational Leadership

The Jones International University has a program in K-12 Education Leadership that has a goal of developing graduates of the program who are successful and influential leaders who have extraordinary knowledge, skills, and also integrity.  These students would be able to apply theory to the innovative and creative solutions to the problems in education today.  This program is intended to service the students and the learning organizations that the graduates of the program will serve.  This program is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.  It is an entirely online doctorate program.  Applicants of the program must submit formal transcripts of graduate work that is relevant with a minimum graduate GPA of at minimum 3.0.  Students must also be able to document at least one year of experience working in the online learning environment and have current access to a learning organization in the area of leadership that was chosen for study.  The average cost per credit for a doctorate in education is about $690.

Grand Canyon University:  Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership in Effective Schools

This program will develop leaders who are able to generate new knowledge and responsibly apply knowledge in order to achieve organizational outcomes.  The students will spend time studying major literature in leadership, will also reflect critically on theory that is existing, and will identify applications of theory in business, education, and other organizational environments.  The students will develop research expertise by studying research methodology as well as statistics.  This program is consistent with the mission of Grand Canyon University to develop students who are critical thinkers, global citizens, responsible leaders, and effective communicators.  The Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Effective Schools program will ensure that educational leaders are able to apply leadership theory and practice to topics of interest and to issues that are important to the educational system today.  This program will be able to provide students with the knowledge and the skills that are needed in educational leadership to be able to come up with new strategies and to forecast the future of the educational system, the constituencies that they serve, and the institutions.  This program through the Grand Canyon University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and is also a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.  It is an online doctoral program, and all applicants must have a master's degree in order to apply.  The average cost per credit is $440.  

University of Phoenix:  Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership - Curriculum and Instruction

Benedictine University:  Doctor of Education in Higher Education and Organizational Change
